DEVELOPMENT OF SUCCESSFUL TOMATO VARIETIES: PRODUCTION, PHENOTYPING AND BREEDING

The aim of my internship at ISI was to calibrate a new tool to phenotype some specific traits in tomatoes. The internship permitted me to publish a poster that was presented during the SIGA congress this year. It has been a great international experience for me and, at ISI, I found a nice place to work.

My Internship in ISI concerned the use of new analysis tools for the study and characterization of tomato’s varieties belonging to the market segment of “specialities”. Also, thanks to the project ISI ACADEMY, I was able to partecipate to refresher course about new programs and software, that gave me another example on what is the role of the researcher in the labour market.

I did my thesis internship at ISI Sementi and it was a very good experience which helped me understand how to conduct a research study in a private sector. It gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I acquired during my academic studies to practical situation and to learn more about different aspects of my field.
